Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are marking a significant milestone in their family as they celebrate their daughter Kaavia James’s birthday.
On Friday, the enthusiastic parents paid tribute to Kaavia’s “golden” 7th birthday, commemorating the special occasion as she officially reaches this milestone on November 7.
Gabrielle Union took to Instagram to express her heartfelt emotions, accompanied by an array of endearing photos of Kaavia. “Kaavia James Union Wade, where do we even begin and where has the time gone? It’s your golden 7th birthday and every bit of you from head to toe shines just as bright,” she lovingly stated.

The actress fondly recalled the immense joy Kaavia has brought into their lives since the moment they discovered they were expecting her.
“From the moment we knew you were coming, all we could do was imagine who you’d look like, how you’d sound, what your personality would be, and baby, you have not disappointed. At all,” Union reflected. “Thank you for choosing us to be your parents and for gracing the world with your presence.”

She ended her message with an enthusiastic, “HAPPY (GOLDEN) 7TH BIRTHDAY QUEEN KAAVIA!!! ” and added, “Issa #6-7Bday,” a playful nod to the popular TikTok trend.
Wade also celebrated his daughter’s big day on Instagram Stories, sharing photos and videos from the morning. One clip showed Kaavia enjoying a special breakfast as her dad proudly said, “It’s Kaavia’s golden birthday today. She’s turning 7 on the 7th.”
Kaavia James Wade was born on November 7, 2018, via surrogate.
Before welcoming their daughter, Union was open about her long journey with infertility in her memoir We’re Going to Need More Wine. She revealed that she went through multiple miscarriages and years of IVF treatments before turning to surrogacy.
“I have had eight or nine miscarriages,” Union wrote. “For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”
