It’s official, Kaavia James is on the road to becoming a journalist. The six-year-old has already interviewed her famous mother, Gabrielle Union, and now she has interviewed dad, Dwyane Wade at the American Girl Store in NYC.

The 43-year-old retired basketball star recently shared all the feels from an unforgettable daddy-daughter date with his 6-year-old scene-stealing daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade. The two took over the American Girl store in New York City for a day of dresses, dolls, mini manicures and all.

“I had an incredible day yesterday,” Wade gushed while co-hosting Today with Jenna and Friends. “Once I got done with work, I was able to meet my baby at American Girl. I know how much she loves dolls and how much she loves dresses, and just the whole manicures and pedicures that we spent time doing together… it was amazing.”

But the day didn’t just include playing dress-up. Kaavia James, also took a moment to flex her interview skills for Today with Jenna and Friends, turning the tables on her famous dad with some seriously adorable questions.

One of Kaavia James’ best questions was, “What’s your favorite part about being a girl dad?”

To which her famous father answered, “My favorite thing about being a girl dad is the way that you look at me when you see me in the morning,” he said. “I love that you show your emotions to me, and I love that I can look in your eyes and see my eyes, but in a much beautiful way.”

The adorable recent kindergartner graduate then asked when her dad was most proud of her, to which Wade gave the ultimate tearjerker response, “I’m so proud of you right now. You are hosting an interview right now for Jenna and Friends for the Today show. You are 6 years old and you’re doing an amazing job.”

The father-daughter bond between these two is seriously next level.

Back in January, Kaavia James posted a birthday tribute to Wade, who had just turned 43. In one photo, the NBA legend is seen grinning in a cozy robe embroidered with “Kaav’s Dad.” Another slide featured Wade opening a gold chain gift and blowing out a single birthday donut candle.

“Usually you got my back, but today I got yours daddy,” the caption read. “p.s. I’ll send you my @target bill later for this gift.”

We cannot get enough of this father/daughter relationship. We can’t wait to see the next special moment between Kaavia James and her dad!
