Veteran actress Elizabeth Kelly, renowned for her role in EastEnders, has passed away at the remarkable age of 104, marking the end of her impressive 40-year career in television.
Kelly gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Nellie Ellis, the meddlesome relative of Pauline Fowler, on the popular soap opera EastEnders, a role she played from 1993 to 2000.
Elizabeth Kelly bid farewell to the world on Christmas Day, achieving the milestone of centenarian status. Her life will be commemorated with a funeral service at St Peter’s Church in Scarborough on February 17.
She leaves behind a legacy through her daughter, son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who survive her.
She is survived by her daughter and son, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Â
Elizabeth retired from acting back in 2007 after her last role in The Royal and reportedly spent her final years with her family in North Yorkshire – before moving into various care homes.
The priest at St Peter’s Church, Father Eddie Gubbins, said to The Sun of Elizabeth: ‘She was a very strong lady and had a beautiful voice.Â
He added: ‘She had a very peaceful death in the end. She was a beautiful lady and very gracious.’

Elizabeth passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 104, making her a centenarian, and her funeral will take place at St Peter’s Church in Scarborough on February 17 (Seen in Emmerdale in 2002)
