Eddie Boxshall reveals he’s open to finding love again after split with ex Denise van Outen

Denise van Outen’s ex Eddie Boxshall has revealed he’s open to finding love again after their high-profile split. 

Speaking to MailOnline at The Last Heist premiere in Leicester Square in London on Wednesday, the Gogglebox star, 49, said he hopes to meet someone on a social night out rather than dating apps. 

Denise, who recently went public with her new Italian boyfriend Jimmy Barba, ended their seven-year relationship back in January this year after discovering unfaithful messages. 

I’ve been in two long term relationships. I don’t think I’ll go on apps,’ Eddie said. 

‘So I think you know, I’m a very social guy. So I think for me when I’m out, if something’s meant to be and it’s right and I meet someone then it’s right.’

‘But it’ll be a slow start. I don’t wanna rush things. I’ve only been split up for a year now. And yeah, just take it easy. If the right lady comes my way, I look forward to meeting her.’

Eddie revealed that he had turned to the gym to help both his physical and mental wellbeing after his split with Denise. 

‘There aren’t many breakups that that are easy ones and, you know, they take their toll and it’s not a nice thing and so for me to keep myself so focused on something… Exercise is a huge part of my life,’ he said.

After appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with Denise, Eddie said he’d be open to one day returning to the show.

‘I was on there for three seasons and and I thoroughly loved it. Enjoyed it. Yeah, if something comes my way and if I’d like to go on… never say never,’ he said. 

Denise, 48, ended their seven year relationship back in January this year, after discovering unfaithful messages.

In July, he appeared to make a dig at his ex-girlfriend via Instagram, sharing a story with a voiceover explaining: ‘It is so much better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel alone’. 

It came just a week after Denise went public with her new Italian boyfriend, Jimmy Barba. 

Back in April, he posted a photograph of his dinner of pie and mash at London’s Manze pie shop, adding a cryptic caption where he said: ‘there ain’t no pleasing you. Everything I ever did was wrong, I should have known it all along. There ain’t no pleasing you! (but this pleases me!)’

And before that, he appeared to brand Denise the ‘worst detective in the world’, after it was revealed that she found out of his cheating after discovering pictures and messages on his iPad.

He posted a black-and-white image of Inspector Clouseau, who is described as an ‘inept and incompetent police detective in the French Sûreté’ – and the accompanying caption led many to believe he was alluding to his ex’s detective skills.

An Italian reality star, her new man Jimmy became a household name in Italy back in 2010 after starring in the eleventh series of Big Brother (Grande Fratello) where he finished in fourth place.

What followed was a short-lived pop career, with Jimmy releasing three singles between 2012 and 2013 – although they failed to light up the charts.

More recently, Jimmy – who described his career as being a dancer and farmer when he appeared on Grande Fratello – has shunned the world of showbiz to become a property developer.
