Ricki Hendrick has embarked on the journey of motherhood.
The 20-year-old, known as the daughter of former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard Johnson and the late racing legend Ricky Hendrick, has welcomed her first child, a daughter named Romi.
On January 23, Ricki took to Instagram to share a poignant black-and-white photo captured shortly after giving birth, cradling her newborn. Another touching image showed her mom, Emily, and stepdad, Tyler Johnson, adoringly looking at their new family member. She simply captioned the moment as the “Best day ever.”
While the identity of Romi’s father remains undisclosed, Ricki confirmed her daughter’s name by updating her Instagram bio to “romis mom.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Ricki has been candid about its difficulties. Back in November, she opened up on Instagram Stories about the frequent morning sickness that had become a part of her daily routine, describing the challenge of waking multiple times only to feel unwell.
She wrote, “Guys. Being pregnant is miserable. I woke up at 2 for no reason, threw up 30 mins later, fell back asleep, woke up at 3:45, threw up again, fell BACK ASLEEP, WOKE UP AGAIN, THROWING UP NOW BC I’M HUNGRY, but ofc I can’t eat anything bc it will prolong the cycle.” She added, “This happens almost daily.”
Even with the discomfort, Ricki stayed excited to finally meet her baby in person, noting, “Everyone was right, the last few weeks are the longest. I’m so excited to see her not on an ultrasound screen.”
Grandma Emily, who shares five other children with Tyler—Jennings Tyler, 10, Gibson Kyle, 9, Gatlin Avery, 7, Magnolia Belle, 5, and Jones West, 3—also chimed in with her playful humor. When a fan remarked about Ricki having a “baby outside of marriage,” Emily teased back, “Very against it. I cannot believe anybody would ever do that—unforgivable.”
Despite the bumps along the way, Ricki’s journey ended on a high note with Romi’s arrival, bringing joy to her family and fans alike.
