Erica Campbell and Warryn Campbell celebrated a major milestone in their family on January 24th—their daughter Zaya’s 13th birthday! The proud parents took to Instagram, sharing sweet messages and reflecting on raising their “feisty” and “smart” girl.

“Happy 13th Birthday Zaya!!!!!!! My sweet feisty girl Your family loves you so much!!” Erica wrote on Instagram.

She continued, “This was the last day I would ever be pregnant cause 13 years ago you came into the world lights camera action!!! Your whole life has been a show, cause you’re a superstar literally born on the Mary Mary show on @Wetv. Thank God for the gift of you and your light! Shine bright baby girl!”

Ahead of Zaya’s big day, Erica reflected on parenting her “almost 13” daughter. “There’s no rule book or manual that talks about the differences in your children, it’s an adventure everyday!” she said. “Understanding and patience is required. I will not squash her gift or diminish her light with fear-based parenting. This girl is VERY SMART and aware of herself. Lord I thank you for this girl. She will change the world! I Love you Zay #almost13.”

Warryn also joined in with his own loving tribute, marveling on how fast the years have flown.

He said, “Happy Birthday to my Baby girl Zaya.. can’t believe you’re 13…. Time is swift.  Y’all please help me wish Zaya Monique Campbell a very Happy Birthday!!.”

Zaya is already making a name for herself, showing that talent runs in the family. When she was just five, she wowed the internet with her rendition of the Nationwide jingle, which later went viral and even landed her a spot in a Nationwide Insurance commercial.

More recently, Zaya won the top prize at the Little Miss African American Scholarship Pageant, further proving that this young star has a bright future ahead!
