In December 2021, revelations surfaced that Maralee Nichols had taken legal action against Tristan in June, seeking coverage for pregnancy and childbirth costs after an encounter on his 30th birthday the previous March. Her lawsuit claimed she was expecting a baby boy and identified Tristan as the father.
Tristan, in his own legal response, acknowledged their intimate relationship during the specified period and asked for a paternity test. Maralee welcomed her son, Theo, in December, and shared with E! News that she and the NBA player first met in 2020, at which time he mentioned he was “single and co-parenting.”
By January 2022, Tristan took to Instagram to confirm the paternity test results, admitting, “I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols.” He addressed Khloe in his apology, stating, “Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.”
Tristan also expressed his intention to “amicably raise” his son with Maralee. However, by February 2022, Maralee’s representative informed E! News that the NBA player had not yet made any effort to see the child. Tristan has remained silent on the matter.
By December 2022, numerous reports indicated that Tristan and Maralee had reached a settlement. Under this agreement, Tristan will provide $9,500 monthly in child support, while Maralee will retain sole custody of Theo.
