Chairman Thomas Rainwater, portrayed by Gil Birmingham, has been deeply engrossed in a battle to prevent a mining company from encroaching on Broken Rock land. However, it appears a new threat has quietly made its way into his community. In an exclusive sneak peek of this Sunday’s fresh episode of Marshals, we see Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes, and Miles Kittle, played by Tatanka Means, visiting Rainwater and Mo Brings Plenty, portrayed by Mo Brings Plenty, to deliver some troubling news.
“Are you seriously suggesting that my land has become a distribution hub for a drug cartel?” Rainwater asks, his disbelief evident. Kittle responds confidently, “We’ve already taken down a major stash house.” Rainwater, taking a seat at his desk, laments, “The federal government aims to rob us of our minerals, and now this cartel threatens to strip away what remains of our spirit.”
Dutton chimes in, “Our bust today will save lives.” Rainwater acknowledges this, saying, “And I am thankful. But it only takes one uninformed senator to claim that Broken Rock’s drug issues are self-inflicted, which could sabotage our efforts against the mine.”
Kittle adds, “The spread of fentanyl is devastating our people. Soon, there won’t be anyone left for the mine to harm.” Troubled by this new challenge, Rainwater closes his eyes in contemplation. Mo Brings Plenty breaks the silence, “Fighting on two fronts is a surefire way to lose both battles.”
“Let us support you,” Dutton offers. “We can take on the cartel.” Rainwater opens his eyes, contemplating the proposal. Kittle adds, “If you can’t rely on us to do right by Broken Rock, who else can you trust?”
