Fat Joe is mourning the loss of his mother Marie Del-Carmen Cartagena, just two months after saying goodbye to his beloved father.Â
The 54-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper, who recently shed over 200 pounds with the help of Ozempic, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, who passed away at age 77.
‘This is a real one, rest in peace to the woman who brought me into this world,’ Fat Joe wrote alongside a series of family photos.Â
‘She didn’t have much, but she gave us everything.’
He continued, ‘Anyone who knows my mom knows she had a heart of gold. She refused to move out of the projects for many years, even though I had money. She loved her community, she loved her people.’
Marie’s death comes just two months after Fat Joe lost his father, her husband Ernesto Cartagena.
