Tracker has been on a bit of a hiatus but will be returning to your TV screens very soon with all new episodes.

When Is ‘Tracker’ Coming Back?

Tracker fans are rejoicing as the beloved action series will be returning to CBS with a new episode on February 16, 2025. The show is also streaming on Paramount+.

The show went on a break after the eighth episode aired on December 1, 2024.

The Plot of Tracker’s Midseason Premiere Has Been Revealed

In a press release, CBS revealed that the title of the season 2 midseason premiere is “The Disciple.”

“A new lead in Colter’s white whale case, the disappearance of Gina Picket, brings him and retired cop Keaton (guest star Brent Sexton) back together to track down a serial killer” the synopsis of the episode said.

Justin Hartley Opened Up About Filming ‘Tracker’

Ahead of the season 2 premiere, Justin Hartley, the show’s star, spoke out about how filming was different this time around.

“Well, the episode order is a lot bigger so that’ll be a challenge. … But it’s classic me. In three months, we’ll see how I feel,” he told TV Insider in September 2024. “But there’s more physicality in certain episodes. The fights certainly are more physical but I don’t mind a bruise here so I’m just trying to keep my body healthy.”

The outlet also asked Justin where he saw the show going in the future as character Colter Shaw.

“I would just say that, from your mouth to God’s ear, if we’re lucky enough to do a third season, a fourth season, a fifth season, a sixth season, that would be wonderful,” the This Is Us alum explained. “I think the show works in the long run in that we have adopted this idea that although we are a Rockford Files [type show], we do develop the character going forward.”

He then compared his hopes for Tracker to the longevity of This Is Us.

“What I really loved about This Is Us … look, I hate to keep talking about it, but I just adore that show and being a part of it,” he said. “I just love that when you watch a show like that and you tune into season 1 and then you tune into the last season, you see the development of the character and you go, ‘Wait a minute, are they playing different roles?’ But then if you watch it throughout the years, you go, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and you experience those things with the characters.”

“As competent and confident as Colter is, I don’t at all think for a second that he doesn’t have a ton to learn, especially about himself and his family and all that,” Justin continued. “Going forward, I think that will be how the show lives on a long runway, is that we keep developing this character and he becomes better at what he’s doing. He’s a restless man, and for an audience member, at least shows that I love to watch, you love to see that growth of a character and we have that.”
