CHRISTY Carlson Romano has revealed she was shot in the eye in a terrifying accident that left her almost blind and with lead lodged in her skull.

The former Even Stevens star said the accident happened at her husband’s birthday party, firing at a clay pigeons at a local shooting range.

The 40-year-old actress shared her story in an emotional video, showing purple bruising and swelling around her injured right eye along with nasty cuts on her forehead and cheek.

Despite the injuries, she remained composed as she explained what happened.

Christy revealed: “I almost lost my vision in my right eye. I got shot in the face, guys. I got shot in the face with something called a pellet gun or a BB gun.”

The incident was so severe that doctors couldn’t remove all the fragments.

She added: “I have metal — lead — in my skull right now. It went through my skin, and into the soft tissue of my eye.”

Christy, who played Ren Stevens on the hit Disney Channel show, was just relieved at not losing her sight, as she went on: “It’s a miracle that I can even see out of this eye, guys. The fact that it didn’t go directly into my eyeball is a miracle.”

Christy has been married to Brendan Rooney since 2013, and the couple share two children, Isabella, eight, as well as five-year-old Sofia.

The Kim Possible assured her followers she’s focused on recovery and grateful for her health, adding in her emotional video: “I’m grateful to St David’s Health here in Austin. This is really bad tonight, I get to say I got shot in the face and lived to tell the tale.

“Be grateful for every day.”

Christy later updated her 765K followers on her condition, adding: “It’s been 3 weeks since I got shot in the face and my life has changed profoundly.

“I am feeling more grateful than I’ve ever felt in my life and I’m healing really well.

“Every day, to me, is a gift. I used to be so closed off about sharing the things in my life I loved out of fear of being judged. Now I just don’t care.”

If you’re a millennial, you probably remember Christy being all over your TV as a child.

Before skyrocketing to fame on the network, she made her Broadway debut in 1998 as Mary Phagan in the musical, Parade.

Then, at the turn of the century, Christy became the first person to act in three Disney Channel projects simultaneously.

The podcast host first gained the role of Ren Stevens on Even Stevens in 2000.

Even Stevens was a show focusing on the life of the Stevens family in California, focusing on the clashing personalities of the two children, Ren and Louis (Shia LaBeouf).

She played the role of Ren for all three seasons and The Even Stevens Movie.

The show was nominated for seven Emmys, taking home one win.

In 2002, Christy took on two more projects, alongside Even Stevens.

Her first Disney Channel movie was Cadet Kelly with Hilary Duff.

She played Cadet Captain Jennifer Oriana “Jenny” Stone, who is a serious military captain at a military school, and eventually breaks down her tough interior.

That same year Christy scored the role of voicing Kim Possible on the show.
