Renowned Nollywood star Funke Akindele recently shared insights into her personality, acknowledging her tendency towards emotional intensity in both her feelings and actions.
During her guest appearance on The Morayo Show, Akindele confessed that while she is capable of loving deeply, she also has the ability to sever ties abruptly. She mentioned that she is currently striving to find a healthier balance in her life.
“I recognize that I can be too extreme; I have the capacity to love fiercely and also to cut people off quickly. It’s something I’m both proud of and striving to improve. There needs to be equilibrium,” she expressed.
Akindele attributed a shift in her perspective on relationships and leadership to her close friend and fellow actor, Uzee Usman.
She recounted an instance when Usman encouraged her to adopt a more patient and understanding approach, particularly in her leadership endeavors.
According to her, the advice prompted deep reflection on how she handles conflicts and interpersonal relationships.
Toward the end of the conversation, the actress also spoke about her upbringing, revealing that her late mother often encouraged her to be calmer despite her strong personality.
“I know I am an extremist. I love so hard, I’m real, I’m not perfect, I can be tough. When my mum was alive, she would always tell me to calm down… It’s good but calm down.
“Human relationships are very important to me, and I’m learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is very important,” she concluded.
