Gemma Collins, renowned for her vivacious demeanor and self-styled ‘GC’ diva flair, faced the end of her journey on Celebrity Masterchef this past Friday. The reality TV personality’s attempt to wow the judges with her sea bass dish fell flat, particularly due to her unusual choice of serving it on grease-proof paper.

At 37, the TOWIE star’s stint on the show was cut short as she did not advance to the semi-finals. Head chef Frank did not mince words, labeling her a ‘nightmare’ after she sought assistance from two of his sous chefs. Meanwhile, Twitter buzzed with viewers eager to share their thoughts on her kitchen escapades.

In the initial round of the competition, Collins teamed up with Stefanie Reid. The duo was tasked by judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with crafting a dish of beef fillet accompanied by bacon, Bearnaise sauce, straw potatoes, and buttered rainbow chard.

Despite being separated by a barrier and relying solely on their ability to communicate effectively to ensure their dishes matched, Collins approached the challenge with a mix of anxiety and determination. “I’m sick to the core. I feel very nervous about this but I’m going to smash it. Watch this space,” she declared before diving into the task.

Ahead of the task, in which the pair were separated by a divide relying on their conversational skills to ensure their dishes turned out the same, she said: ‘I’m sick to the core. I feel very nervous about this but I’m going to smash it. Watch this space.’

Despite curdling the Bearnaise sauce and asking if egg yolks were the ‘yellow’ bits, the judges applauded the television personality and Stephanie for their efforts.

However, in the next challenge tempers frayed, with head-chef Frank branding Gemma a ‘queen’ and a ‘nightmare’ after the GC used all her charm to get his cooks to rush to her aid.

Declaring she needed a brandy after the success of her first meal, Gemma was paired with Zoe Lyons to make 50 main courses and 70 desserts for hungry staff at Heathrow airport, with many air hostess’ applauding her ‘delicious’ sausage casserole and pleasant apple crumble.
