The latest episode of Gen V Season 2, Episode 7, starkly reinforces a somber reality well-known to fans of this superhero universe: not everyone can be rescued, and perhaps, they shouldn’t be. This notion is a recurring theme throughout both The Boys and Gen V.
In the previous episode, viewers witnessed Marie harnessing her newfound power of blood-bending to heal Thomas Godolkin. However, this act of mercy unveils a startling truth—Godolkin has been secretly manipulating Cipher, whose real identity is Doug Brightbill, all along.
This revelation arrives just as Polarity is on the verge of avenging his son Andre’s death by targeting Cipher. Episode 7 wraps up with Godolkin, now rejuvenated, confidently walking through the campus that bears his name. Having been imprisoned in another’s mind for years, his potential is unknown. Godolkin’s mission, however, is explicit: eliminate the so-called “circus freaks” from God U to make space for the truly powerful. The question remains—can Marie and her friends thwart his plans? This discovery leaves them rattled and sets the stage for what promises to be a thrilling Season 2 finale.
So, when can fans expect the Gen V finale? And what is the schedule for new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know about the highly anticipated Season 2, Episode 8 of Gen V.
When do Gen V episodes release?
The finale of Gen V Season 2, Episode 8, will be available for streaming on Prime Video at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, October 22.
This will be the Season 2 finale.
Will there be a Gen V Season 3?
Gen V creator Erik Kripke confirmed that they still have more planned for Gen V Season 3 and beyond, but they’ll need good ratings to ensure the show gets renewed.
“We’re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3. Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now. Turn on Prime [Video] and watch it now,” he recently said in an interview with The Wrap.
Kripke added, “They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up.”
Kripke teased that Gen V could even continue beyond The Boys, which is set to end with the upcoming season.
“Without spoiling anything, I think the universe post-The Boys Season 5 is such a fascinating universe, there’s a lot to explore,” he said. “It’s so much more of the wild west in terms of, like, f–king anything goes — without giving anything away. And I think that would be a blast to put the Gen V kids in the middle of.”
