Gerber Products Company has initiated a recall of specific batches of their baby biscuits due to concerns over potential contamination with plastic and paper materials.

This precautionary measure follows the recall of a key ingredient, arrowroot flour, by Gerber’s supplier. The company identified that this ingredient might contain foreign materials, prompting Gerber to terminate its relationship with the supplier.

In an official statement, Gerber emphasized their commitment to product quality and safety: “The quality, safety, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority, and we take this responsibility seriously. We sincerely apologize for any concerns or inconvenience this action causes for parents, caregivers, and retail customers.”

Arrowroot flour, a gluten-free and grain-free powder derived from the rhizomes of the West Indian arrowroot plant, is favored for its smooth texture in baby snacks. Although no illnesses or injuries have been reported, Gerber has opted to proceed with the recall “out of an abundance of caution.”

Gerber also noted that no other Gerber products are affected at this time.

Families who have Arrowroot Biscuits at home should check the batch codes and “Best Before” dates printed on the back of the package near the barcode. The recall applies to 5.5-ounce packages produced between July 2025 and September 2025.

If your package matches one of the affected batch codes, do not give the product to your child. Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

For additional information or questions, parents and caregivers can contact Gerber’s customer service line, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 1-800-4-GERBER (1-800-443-7237).
