Exciting news for fans of the hit comedy series Nobody Wants This: Season 3 is officially in the works!
Just five months after the Emmy-nominated show, featuring stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, concluded its second season on Netflix, production for the third season is underway. The series, which follows the journey of Noah (Brody) and Joanne (Bell) as they navigate their way toward a hopeful happy ending, also stars Timothy Simons, Justine Lupe, and Jackie Tohn as beloved onscreen friends and siblings.
On Tuesday, Netflix delighted fans by releasing a collection of behind-the-scenes photos taken by Bell herself using a disposable camera. This could be a nod to the disposable cameras used at the Season 2 premiere. While a release date for Season 3 has yet to be announced, the production timeline suggests a fall debut, aligning with the previous seasons which premiered in October 2024 and October 2025.
The photos capture the cast enjoying each other’s company during the early days of production, maintaining the camaraderie that fans love. However, they are careful not to reveal any spoilers or plot details for the upcoming season.
One intriguing observation from the images is a change in hairstyles: Esther’s bangs from Season 2 are missing, and Sasha’s hair is now a striking bleached blonde. Could these changes hint at a time jump or a new direction in the storyline? We’ll have to wait to find out!
“I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show,” creator Erin Foster told Netflix back in 2025. “It is a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this.”
With or without a time jump, we anticipate that things are going to be moving fast and furious for Noah and Joanne, especially after that Season 2 finale solidified their status and their future together, come what may. While it may have taken some time for her to come around to the idea of converting, Joanne is seemingly ready to take the next step in their relationship, both for herself and for Noah.
One potential storyline that takes away from us in Season 3 of Nobody Wants This? A Chrismukkah.
At the Season 2 premiere in October, DECIDER spoke with Brody, who starred in The O.C. where the portmanteau holiday first came to life, and he said that his rabbi character in the Netflix show might be too rigid to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah with Joanne and their potential family one day.
“I think we’ll leave it to [the writers]. If they [Noah and Joanne] continue, and if they have children, that might be a nice thing for the kids. Well, no actually,” he said. “He’s going to need to do Hannukkah by the book. That said, might he be open to a Christmas tree, too? He is a rabbi, but I don’t hate that idea for him.”
Hey, maybe Morgan will still demand a Christmas and we’ll get a Chrismukkah after all. Only time will tell.
