Families are grappling with an unimaginable loss following a tragic event.
A devastating plane crash in North Carolina has taken the lives of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina Grossu, their two children, and three additional passengers. In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, the families of those lost are sharing their sorrow and memories.
“We are devastated by the loss of our loved ones,” a joint statement from the families expressed, released by NASCAR on December 18. “This tragedy has left all of our families heartbroken beyond words.”
Greg and Cristina were remembered by their relatives as “devoted parents and active philanthropists,” with their lives revolving around their son Ryder, age 5, and Greg’s daughter Emma, age 14. Both children also perished in the crash, which occurred at Statesville Regional Airport on December 18.
Their relatives went on to remember Greg and Cristina—a realtor and travel agent—as “devoted parents and active philanthropists,” saying their lives centered around their son Ryder, 5, and Greg’s daughter Emma, 14, both of whom died in the Dec. 18 crash at Statesville Regional Airport.
Emma—who the 55-year-old shared with ex-wife Nicole Lunders—was remembered as “a wonderful human being with a kind soul who was loved by many people,” while the family noted Ryder “was an active, curious and infinitely joyful child.”
