In the latest episode of Celebrity MasterChef, a dramatic moment unfolded as judge Greg Wallace was left aghast by a significant misstep from one of the contestants. During Monday’s episode, tensions were high as four celebrities vied for a coveted spot in the quarter-finals.
The lineup included comedian Eshaan Akbar, actresses Danielle Harold and Rochenda Sandall, along with athlete and Gladiator star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. These contestants faced off in a series of three demanding challenges designed to test their culinary prowess.
A pivotal moment occurred in the initial task known as the Paris Challenge. In this round, the participants were divided into pairs, each tasked with creating identical dishes. The challenge took a surprising turn when Harry, striving to match Rochenda’s samosas, encountered a mishap.
Only Rochenda had access to the recipe, leaving Harry in a tricky spot. The situation worsened when he inadvertently left the oven door slightly ajar, a blunder that could have jeopardized his chances of advancing in the competition.
Harry was attempting to replicate Rochenda’s samosas – with the cruel twist that only she had the recipe – when he failed to close the oven door fully.

In episode five, comedian Eshaan Akbar, actresses Danielle Harold and Rochenda Sandall, and athlete and Gladiator Harry Aikines-Aryeetey battled it out for a place in the quarter-finals

Gregg’s co-presenter John Torode, 59, observed: ‘Harry has left his oven door open.’Â
Meanwhile, Gregg, 59, added in a confessional: ‘Now, if there’s anyone big and strong enough to shut an oven door, it’s Harry! Now it’s touch and go whether they’ll cook or not.’
Despite the blunder, both Gregg and John were pleased when Harry and Rochenda presented their dishes.
Gregg said: ‘I think they look brilliant, I’m really impressed,’ and John added: ‘You’ve done remarkably well here, they do look very similar.’
However, Gregg scolded Harry: ‘Slight overcooking on the lamb. Not enough cookery on your samosa – you didn’t shut the oven door.’
But, it wasn’t enough to stop the pair heading through to the quarter-finals alongside Danielle Harold, meaning Akbar unfortunately headed home.
The second heat had begun in episode four with an additional celebrity, reality television star Chloe Burrows, but she exited at the end.Â
The first heat premiered on August 12 with Craig Doyle, Charlotte Crosby, Edith Bowman, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and Snoochie Shy.Â
