Hailee Steinfeld Embraces ‘Nesting’ Phase: A New Chapter Unfolds

Hailee Steinfeld is excitedly awaiting the birth of her first child with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

The 29-year-old actress, who has a role in the Oscar-nominated film Sinners, revealed how she’s getting ready for motherhood in a recent entry on her Beau Society newsletter.

She revealed her baby index includes lots of research, to-do lists and ‘life reorganization.’

‘This week, I was sitting on the couch in my family room, and the reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in,’ began Steinfeld.

‘But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost every day.

‘Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions (what am I going to be like as a mom?) or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.’

Steinfeld revealed she’s celebrating ‘this surreal, full-body awareness’ as the baby’s arrival fast approaches.

‘We’re getting ready to meet someone we already love so much,’ she said. ‘I’ve racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don’t have them yet. Maybe that’s the point. For now, I’m blessed to be settling into the feeling.’

The couple announced they were expecting in a sweet video posted to Instagram on December 12.

The clip showed them embracing in a snowy meadow that wasn’t too cold for Steinfeld to partly lift up her shirt to show off her growing baby bump.

In her newsletter, she also let readers in on how the nursery preparation is going.

‘On a more practical note, the nesting phase is real, and I’m in the middle of it,’ she wrote.  

‘Unsurprisingly, putting together a nursery has been a joy for me.

‘I’ve gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?), but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible. Emphasis on “slowly” coming together – it’s all still very much a work in progress.’

She described the support she’s been receiving from friends and fans alike.

The couple became an item in 2023 and exchanged vows in May of last year in Santa Barbara

‘Between helpful texts, voice notes, and the passing “you’ll thank me later” advice, I’m starting to feel more prepared for a newborn,’ Steinfeld said.

‘Plus, last weekend my mom threw the most beautiful baby shower at our home (more to come on that next week in MORE BS), which added to the “this is really happening” feeling.’

Meanwhile, Steinfeld recently told People how playing a multi-racial woman in the vampire thriller Sinners impacted her ‘so personally’ and was ‘unlike any role that I have ever played.

‘This character challenged me in ways I’ve never been challenged. And in ways I don’t know I would have been able to sort of tackle and overcome had it happened any sooner in my life,’ she said.
