Halle Berry is fed up with the constant chatter about her age.
During her appearance on the Heart Evening Show aired on Wednesday, February 4, the 59-year-old actress expressed her frustration when questioned on topics she wishes to retire.
“Stop asking me about my f**king age, man!” she declared.
“Whatever age I am at the time that seems to come up,” she elaborated, noting that women in Hollywood face this scrutiny more than their male counterparts. “It’s like, can we ever move beyond that?”
Although age plays a role in her forthcoming film Crime 101, Berry emphasized her preference for exploring it through her art rather than as fodder for personal discussion.
“Does that always have to define us as women?” she asked.
And that’s not the only form of ageism Berry has been challenging. In recent years, the actress and founder of menopause-focused healthcare company Respin, has become a leading voice around menopause, advocating for better education, medical care and resources for women in midlife.
