HGTV is making some changes. The real estate and home improvement-focused network recently decided to clean house. Several of its best-known shows have been canceled in recent weeks, according to updates from various hosts. 

Which shows have gotten the ax, and which are safe? Keep reading for an update. 

‘Christina on the Coast’

On Wednesday, People reported that long-time HGTV star Christina Haack’s lifestyle and home design series Christina on the Coast would not return for a sixth season.

‘The Flipping El Moussas’

Haack’s ex-husband and former Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa also recently got bad news from HGTV, according to People. The Flipping El Moussas, which stars Tarek and his current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, won’t return with new episodes.

However, the insider said that The Flip Off, the new competition series starring Christina, Tarek, and Heather has been renewed for season 2.

‘Married to Real Estate’ 

Married to Real Estate with Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson won’t return for a fifth season. Sherrod said she and her husband received the disappointing news about their show – which was just nominated for an Emmy – shortly after returning home from a vacation.

“Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with the unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,” she wrote on Instagram. “While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful.​​”

‘Farmhouse Fixer’ 

Farmhouse Fixer is another recent casualty at HGTV. Co-host Jonathan Knight confirmed the news in a June 25 Instagram update. 

“A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer,” he wrote. “I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season. While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina [Crestin] and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons.

‘Bargain Block’

HGTV has also canceled Bargain Block. Keith Bynum, who co-hosted the renovation show with his partner Evan Thomas, didn’t hide his disappointment in an Instagram update announcing the news. 

“The last six months have been a pretty wild journey,” he wrote on June 22. “Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol. Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we’re excited that we’ve built such an amazing base of followers and we’re very excited about the future.” 

“Tv is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered,” he added.

‘Izzy Does It’

After years on Flip or Flop, Izzy Battres landed his own HGTV show, Izzy Does It, which premiered in 2025. Unfortunately, it’s a one-season wonder. Battres quietly confirmed the cancellation when replying to someone on Instagram who wanted to know about season 2. 

“It’s a tough one to share, but there’s no Season 2 on the way,” he wrote. “Even so, this chapter was something really special!!”

‘Battle on the Beach’ 

Competition series Battle on the Beach has also been cut from HGTV’s lineup. Host Alison Victoria of Windy City Rehab shared the news during the July 1 episode of her Pap Smear Podcast (via People). 

“I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny … Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up, which is sad, because it was like adult spring break,” she said. 

Other changes at HGTV

Cancellations aren’t the only changes at HGTV. The latest season of Nicole Curtis’ Rehab Addict has been put on pause after airing just two episodes. In an update, she said she made the “executive decision” to put the show on hold and assured fans it would return in the fall. 

Chasing the West, a new show with Property Brothers star Drew and Jonathan Scott, was originally slated to premiere on July 10. That date has been pushed back to July 30. A new season of Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers was also supposed to premiere in late July. Those eight new episodes will instead air later this year, according to an updated press release. 

So, what is airing on HGTV? New episodes of Celebrity IOU air Wednesdays, while Friday nights are dedicated to fresh installments of Zillow Gone Wild and My Lottery Dream Home. Season 2 of Renovation Resort Showdown premieres July 22. The latest season of Ugliest House in America with Retta aired its season finale in early July and a new season of Holmes Family Rescue premiered June 4. 

HGTV has also ordered a second season of Scariest House in America, in addition to announcing a new show with Bobby Berk, Junk or Jackpot? Earlier this year, the network announced a new eight-episode series, Condemned, which will follow a father-daughter renovation team in Detroit. HGTV has also signed a multi-year deal with Home Town’s Ben and Erin Napier, keeping the duo’s signature show on the air through 2027.
