Feeling stuck in a never-ending loop of TV reruns? There’s good news—Decider has the perfect remedy to revitalize your viewing experience!
Currently, we can’t get enough of the riveting crime drama The Westies featuring J.K. Simmons, airing on MGM+. We’re also captivated by Liz Meriwether’s critically praised series Furious on Hulu. Additionally, we’re eagerly anticipating fresh seasons of Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness on Paramount+, Reacher on Prime Video, and Doc on FOX. But what’s the update on our beloved High Potential?
There’s a mix of good and bad news for fans. While High Potential, led by Kaitlin Olson, has been confirmed for a third season, it is notably absent from ABC’s fall lineup. So, we’re curious: when will Season 3 actually debut on ABC and Hulu?
Here’s everything we’ve gathered so far.
Is High Potential New Tonight (July 28)?
Unfortunately, no new episodes are airing tonight. Instead, ABC’s primetime schedule consists of repeats. RJ Decker starts the evening at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by consecutive reruns of Will Trent from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET.
Will There Be a High Potential Season 3?
You know it. Back in March, ABC renewed High Potential for a third season. It was also revealed that the beloved series would have new showrunners, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (Poker Face), with Todd Harthan leaving to work on a live-action adaptation of the YA book series The Inheritance Cycle.
When Does High Potential Season 3 Premiere on ABC?
It was revealed at the Disney Upfront event that three ABC staples, High Potential, Will Trent, and The Rookie, will be held for midseason premieres. Sadly, that means that all three shows won’t be back with new episodes for the fall 2026 season.
Official release dates have yet to be announced, but all three programs will return in early 2027, with our best guess centering on the beginning of January. High Potential and Will Trent will most likely air on Tuesdays, with The Rookie and the upcoming spinoff The Rookie: North going back-to-back on Mondays.
Will Steve Howey Be Back For High Potential Season 3?
After the events of the season finale, it was announced that Steve Howey would not be returning as a series regular for Season 3. Deadline reports that Howey could potentially be back as a “guest star at the start of next season to wrap his character’s arc.”
