Jesse Wood, the son of Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood, recently found himself in court for speeding charges, revealing his financial struggles since parting ways with Fearne Cotton. The 49-year-old musician, who resides in a £3 million townhouse in Richmond, has been grappling with unemployment and surviving on just over £1,000 a month.
Despite being the offspring of a rock icon worth £100 million, Jesse has been leaning on his savings to make ends meet since his separation from TV presenter Fearne Cotton 13 months ago. His current financial predicament came to light during his court appearance on Thursday, where he faced the prospect of a driving ban.
Jesse, now romantically linked with former Made in Chelsea star Gemma Gregory, was summoned to Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court. The charges stemmed from an incident on April 7 of last year, when he was caught driving at 27mph in a 20mph zone in Earls Court, west London.
His driving record already included three previous endorsements, putting him at risk of a potential driving ban. With his current circumstances, this legal issue adds to his ongoing challenges since his high-profile split.
This was because he had already clocked up three previous endorsements and so was facing a possible ban.

When he came to plead his case, the-father-of-four gave JPs an extraordinary insight into his recent struggles to be solvent and find paid work.
Jesse, who shares two children with Ferne and two from a previous relationship, represented himself when he told the court, saying: ‘I was due to be employed in 2024 but it got delayed.
‘At the moment I’m living off my savings and I am looking to get employment.’
Asked about his income as recorded on his last year’s tax returns, he continued: ‘Yes. It was very low at around £14,000.’
Jesse also apologised to the court for having driven 7mph above the limit on the A4 Cromwell Road when he was caught for the fourth time.
He added: ‘I would like to say I accept responsibility for what I have done.’
Prosecutor Geraldine Dickinson earlier told the court: ‘This was at 12.45pm in the afternoon on April 7 last year. He used his vehicle on the A4 Cromwell Road which was subject to a 20mph speed restriction.

‘The speed recorded when the vehicle activated the safety camera was 27mph.’
The court was told Jesse already had nine points for similar speeding offences recorded in the year prior to the Cromwell Road incident – in June 2024, September 2024 and August 2025.
Jesse, who lives in Richmond, south west London, formally pleaded guilty to his latest offence of exceeding a 20mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.
Despite his plea of relative penury, Wood was hit with a six-month driving ban as he received three more penalty points.
This automatically triggered an automatic month ban for a minimum of that period -and he was additionally told to pay £255 in fines and costs.
Sentencing Magistrate Richard Sanden explained to him: ‘Because you pleaded guilty you get one third off the fine.

‘It would have been £134. That has been reduced to 89. You will also pay a surchage of £36 and a contribution towards court costs of £130.’
Jesse has not spoken publicly about his split from the presenter in December 2024 but Fearne discussed it during an appearance on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV show: ‘It’s all very amicable and the kids are doing great. I am in a very good place’.
His new partner Gemma, 39, recently posted a photo of them on her Instagram as Jesse hugged her outside in the sunshine.
‘Bloody love this one’, Gemma captioned it with a red love heart emoji.
