Kylie Minogue is currently in the midst of a career resurgence not seen since her Can’t Get You Out of My Head days.
The Australian hitmaker, who just celebrated her 55th birthday, is racing up the charts with her comeback single Padam Padam and reaching a whole new generation of fans via social media.
The addictive dance track has become a viral sensation on TikTok and Twitter, racking up millions of views through hilarious memes.
It’s also shaping up to be a massive hit on the music charts, becoming her highest-charting single in Australia in over a decade after debuting at No. 39 in its first week.
The song is racing up the UK charts too, hitting No. 1 on the UK Big Top 40 chart, which measures radio airplay, iTunes sales and Apple Music streaming.

Latest predictions have it headed for the top 20 on the official singles chart by next week.
Writing about Padam Padam’s unexpected success, George Griffiths at the Official Charts said: ‘It’s a confident, left-of-centre turn, and people have been responding to it because of how confident it sounds, and how much it feels like a Kylie single.
‘No-one else could have probably pulled this song off,’ he added.
Kylie addressed her chart comeback on social media this week, thanking fans for their support.
‘It has been an incredible week topped off by being my birthday today and I can’t thank you enough. My heart is bursting with joy so thank you so so much,’ she gushed.

The relaunch was so successful that the fragrance has already spawned a flanker called Disco Darling, named after her 2020 album Disco.
Kylie will release her 17th studio album Tension on September 22.
Featuring eleven songs, Tension is set to be a record full of upbeat dance-pop tunes.

Announcing the album in a press release, Kylie said: ‘I started this album with an open mind and a blank page.
‘Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a theme, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song.
‘I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.’
