Fans of One Chicago are facing a mixed bag of updates. NBC’s ongoing broadcast of the 2026 Winter Olympics has temporarily sidelined beloved shows Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. So, for now, viewers will have to wait as the Olympic spotlight shines, yes, even on curling.
However, there’s a silver lining. Characters Halstead, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, and Upton, portrayed by Tracy Spiridakos, are set to make their return in the next thrilling One Chicago crossover event.
This highly anticipated three-hour special will focus on a tense scenario involving a passenger jet that mysteriously loses communication mid-flight, sparking a high-stakes emergency. As of now, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. remain on a break. Their usual primetime slots have been temporarily paused to make way for NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
When Will The One Chicago Crossover Episode Air on NBC?
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. return on Wednesday, March 4, with a three-hour One Chicago crossover event. The episodes will air from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
All three shows will once again be available for next-day streaming on Peacock and NBC.com, with new episodes debuting Thursday, March 5, on both platforms.
