Romantic tales on the ice have been making waves in the streaming world recently.
Audiences were captivated by the on-screen chemistry of ice hockey stars Shane Hollander, portrayed by Hudson Williams, and Ilya Rozanov, played by Connor Storrie, in the adaptation of Rachel Reid’s popular book series, Heated Rivalry. Brought to life by series creator Jacob Tierney, the show has been a hit. Meanwhile, Netflix is finding success with Finding Her Edge, a series grounded in Jennifer Iacopelli’s 2022 novel, which brings the glamour and drama of figure skating to viewers.
Finding Her Edge follows the journey of the Russo sisters—Elise (played by Alexandra Beaton), Adriana (Madelyn Keys), and Maria (Alice Malakhov)—who are the next generation in a once-renowned but now struggling figure skating family. Adriana, who still has lingering emotions for her former partner Freddie (Olly Atkins), starts training with Brayden (Cale Ambrozic). To gain a sponsorship, she pretends to be in a romantic relationship with him.
The series has climbed to the No. 4 spot on Netflix’s list of Top 10 TV Shows in the U.S. Joel Keller, a contributor to DECIDER, advised viewers to STREAM IT in his review, stating, “If you’re after a show filled with intense teen angst and conflict, Finding Her Edge may not be your cup of tea. However, the performances are compelling enough to make this light-hearted series an enjoyable watch for the whole family.”
Curious if Finding Her Edge will glide smoothly into a second season? Here’s what we’ve uncovered so far.
Will there be a Season 2 of Finding Her Edge?
Netflix has yet to renew Finding Her Edge for a second season, but there’s still hope! The series premiered just over a week ago on Jan. 22, meaning there’s still time for the series to get renewed for another season. DECIDER will update this story once more information becomes available.
It sounds like Ambrozic would also be open for a second season, opening up to Swooon about Finding Her Edge‘s Season 1 finale and noting that his character Brayden “loves his revenge.”
“He knows what he’s doing with that, and I think it sets up a Season 2 really, really nicely,” he explained.
As we await an update from Netflix, you can check out DECIDER’s guide to the Finding Her Edge cast, and also watch (or re-watch) Finding Her Edge Season 1 on Netflix.
