After nearly a weeklong suspension, Jimmy Kimmel is returning to ABC.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled from the air on Wednesday, September 17, after Kimmel commented on the recent death of Charlie Kirk.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” the host said during his monologue.

Disney announced the show’s return with a statement that maintained Kimmel’s comments were “ill-timed” and “insensitive.”

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive,” the statement reads. “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

The comedy series may be returning to ABC, but a portion of the United States still might not be able to watch it on the network. Nexstar and Sinclair Broadcast Group announced that they will preempt the show across their 66 ABC affiliate stations, replacing Jimmy Kimmel Live with news programming.

It all depends on where you’re trying to watch the show. Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air on ABC tonight, but, per The Hollywood Reporter, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar will be preempting the show.

“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming,” the company said in a statement. “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”

The situation remains in flux, but as of now, a portion of the United States — The Wrap published a helpful guide of cities with Sinclair and Nexstar-owned ABC stations — won’t be able to watch the show on ABC.
