It’s been a sad summer for fans of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. After the show’s shocking cancellation, all we can really do is diligently tune in to new episodes of the late night show’s final season each week. But will we be able to show our unwavering support this week? Read on to find out.

Earlier this summer, Paramount made a $16 million settlement with President Trump in exchange for the Trump administration’s approval of the company’s merger with Skydance Media. Soon after this deal was made, and after Stephen Colbert criticized the settlement as a “big fat bribe” on his talk show, CBS made the decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after Colbert’s contract ends in May 2026. An outpouring of backlash soon followed from angry fans and other late night hosts such as Jimmy Kimmel and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, who told Deadline, “I think it’s a sad day for CBS. I think Stephen Colbert is a singular talent. He’s going to have an incredible next chapter.” 

Despite the outrage of fans everywhere, there’s nothing to be done except to continue watching for as long as we can. But can we continue watching this week? Here’s what we know about the episode schedule of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert On This Week?

No, it’s not. But not to worry — CBS hasn’t decided to cut the show even earlier. The last brand new episode of Colbert aired back on Aug. 7, and was the last one before the show’s annual summer hiatus. The show will continue to be on break for the next few weeks.

When Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Coming Back?

The late night show will be back with new episodes of Season 10 starting Tuesday, Sept. 2. Until then, we’ll have to make due with reruns.
