Outlander Season 7 dropped a major twist on fans last week, one that immediately sparked debate, confusion, and an overriding need to find out what would happen next. With the Starz hit sending viewers into such a wild tailspin, fans naturally must be wondering if the answers they seek will be coming this week. Is Outlander new this week? Outlander Season 7 Episode 16 ended with Claire telling Jamie that she thinks their stillborn daughter Faith somehow survived without their knowledge. She pieces this wild theory together after receiving a vision of Season 2 supporting character Master Raymond (Dominique Pinon) visiting her sick bed to beg forgiveness for some sort of misdeed. Later in that same episode, Claire not only learns that poor Jane Pocock (Silvia Presente) and her sister Fanny’s (Florrie Mae Wilkinson) mother was named Faith, but that 1770s Fanny somehow knows the 1907 song, “I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside.” That would be the same song Claire sang to baby Faith.

“We’ll see where it goes,” Outlander EP and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts told DECIDER last week, “I promise you that. You will literally see how it unfolds and how it affects Jamie and Claire.”

Okay, but when? When will we find out what the Faith reveal means? Do we have to wait until Outlander Season 8 for resolution? Or is there a brand new episode of Outlander this week on Starz?

How Many Episodes are There in Outlander Season 7?

There are sixteen episodes in total in Outlander Season 7, which was split by Starz into two halves.

Outlander Season 7 Part 1 included Episodes 1-8 and ran on Starz during Summer 2023.

Outlander Season 7 Part 2 covered Episodes 9-16 and debuted in November 2024. Outlander Season 7 Episode 16 “A Hundred Thousand Angels” aired on Starz last Friday, January 17.

That means that Outlander Season 7 is officially over.

Is There a New Outlander Episode This Week?

Nope! Alas, Outlander Season 7 Episode 16 “A Hundred Thousand Angels” was the last episode of the latest season. We are officially in a Droughtlander, people!

There will be no new episodes of Outlander until Season 8 eventually premieres on Starz (probably in 2026).

Will There Be an Outlander Season 8?

Yes, there will be! Starz has already confirmed that Outlander Season 8 will be the final season of the hit series. The eighth and final season of Outlander wrapped production a few months ago in Scotland.

However, Outlander Season 8 won’t be the end of the Outlander saga. A brand new prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, will be on Starz this summer. The new show will follow the parallel love stories of Jamie’s and Claire’s parents, set in early 18th century Scotland and against the backdrop of World War I, respectively.

Both Outlander showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and series star David Berry recently shared with Decider that they’re also keen to continue the story of Lord John Grey in a potential spin-off series.

“We would love to do a series about Lord John. There has to be the appetite for it, but we would love to do it. That’s really as much as I can say,” Roberts told DECIDER only last week. “I know everybody around it sees him, sees the character, sees how David brings it to life. There’s a lot of mileage there. We know there’s a lot of novellas. You know, it’s there. We just need the venue.”

When Will Outlander Season 8 Come Out?

We don’t know exactly when Outlander Season 8 will come out on Starz, but our best guess is that the final season of Outlander will premiere in 2026.

The good news is that none other than Sam Heughan has affirmed that Outlander Season 8 will immediately address the whole Faith fiasco.“It’s the beginning probably of how it’s going to continue into Season 8,” he told us. “So big, big reveal for the fans to look forward to.”
