Tiffany Haddish might have just sent the internet into full-on speculation mode. Did she just become a mom? Fans are wondering after she posted a new photo on social media.
The 45-year-old comedian and actress raised eyebrows after posting a photo on Instagram with her longtime friend Jason Lee and a baby. The joint photo showed Haddish holding a little one dressed in a blue headband and tiny Nikes, while Lee smiled beside her with one hand on a matching blue stroller.
She captioned the two photos, “Cats out of the bag,” followed by a single red heart.
Naturally, fans had questions.

Neither Haddish nor Lee have offered any clarification, and reps for both have yet to respond to People Magazine’s request for comment. But the post left followers doing double takes in the comments section.
“What does this mean,” asked actress Tasha Smith.
Another added, “What is the cat because I just see you and tiff with someone baby.”
A third chimed in with a bit more intrigue, “Yall actually did ittttt. I remember it being talked about.”
That last comment is referencing something both Haddish and Lee once discussed publicly. During a November 2024 episode of Lee’s Hollywood Unlocked podcast, the two friends had an open conversation about possibly having a baby together.
“You did promise me you would give me a kid. So let me ask you a question. So I had Cardi B here, she’s already said she’ll be my kid’s godmother. You said you would give me a kid. Are you serious about that?” Lee asked.
“Yeah. I wanted to talk to you about the cost of…because I said I wanted to do it the old fashioned way. You said no. So I want to talk to you about the cost of [having a baby],” Haddish responded.
So, was that post an announcement or just an inside joke between close friends? Still unclear.
What is known is that Haddish has been open in the past about her desire to become a mother, particularly through adoption. In 2022, she told E!’s Daily Pop that a trip to Africa helped solidify that dream.
“I just went to Africa. I was just in Eritrea, and people were trying to give me their kids,” she said. “I was like, ‘Hold up now, I gotta get the paperwork right now. I can’t just be taking kids with me.’”
At the time, Haddish said adoption was still on her radar, just not right away. “Not right now, but maybe at the end of the year, beginning of next year,” she said when asked if she still planned on expanding her family.
She first opened up about the process back in 2021, sharing that she had enrolled in parenting classes and was focused on adopting older children.
“I’m taking parenting classes now to adopt,” she revealed. “I’m looking at, you know, 5 and up — really like 7. I want them to be able to know how to use the restroom on their own and talk. I want them to know that I put in the work and I wanted them.”
As for surrogacy, Haddish explained why she wasn’t interested. “I don’t wanna pay no body to carry my baby neither, ‘cause then I have to go through a process of giving myself injections and all that stuff,” she said. “And I already gave up— here goes something everybody don’t know, I’m gonna tell you: When I was 21 I was really hard up for some money and I gave up a bunch of eggs.”
“So who knows,” she added with a laugh, “I might got some kids out here in these streets. I doubt it, though, because I never got the bonus. Maybe somewhere though, in cryo somewhere!”
Until she clarifies what that baby photo really means, we’ll all be watching her page closely. But if it was a soft launch into parenthood…Congratulations are definitely in order!
