Renowned businessman and socialite, Isaac Fayose, has expressed his opinion that Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, is rightly facing scrutiny from President Bola Tinubu’s Federal Government.
El-Rufai is currently under investigation for a substantial corruption scandal involving an alleged ₦432 billion during his tenure as governor.
In a candid Instagram post, Fayose shared that he refused to participate in a protest purportedly organized to demand El-Rufai’s release. He firmly stated that the former governor “deserves all he gets.”
Fayose criticized El-Rufai’s time in office, attributing to him the creation of religious imbalances in Kaduna State.
According to him, El-Rufai’s administration created religious imbalance in Kaduna State.
“During his administration, El-Rufai turned Kaduna into a Muslim state, and the Christians became vulnerable,” Fayose said.
He further claimed that before El-Rufai assumed office, previous administrations had maintained a political understanding by ceding the deputy governorship position to Christians, but alleged that the former governor disrupted that arrangement.
Fayose maintained that he would not support any protest in El-Rufai’s favour, stressing that his loyalty is to Nigeria and not to any political party.
“I’m not and will never be a member of ADC. I belong only to the ‘Nigerian Party.’ I go for what is good for Nigerians. The only candidate I like is Peter Obi,” he added, referring to former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
