Israel DMW, a close friend of musician Davido, has shared his thoughts on the artist’s recent outcome at the 2026 Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday, February 1, in Los Angeles.
Davido, an influential figure in Afrobeats, was in the running for the Best African Music Performance award. His competitors included Burna Boy, Wizkid, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr, yet it was South African artist Tyla who ultimately took home the prize.
In response to the results, Israel DMW reached out to fans via Instagram, urging them to keep faith in Davido’s enduring presence in the music scene. He expressed a strong belief that the artist will continue to produce successful tracks, regardless of the Grammy outcome.
Tyla’s triumph came with her hit track “Push 2 Start,” which surpassed Burna Boy’s “Love,” Davido’s “With You” featuring Omah Lay, “Gimme Dat” by Ayra Starr and Wizkid, along with “Hope & Love” by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin.
This win represents a significant achievement in Tyla’s burgeoning international career. Meanwhile, Davido’s supporters emphasize that his influence isn’t solely measured by awards, highlighting his consistent ability to resonate with fans across the globe.
Israel DMW further noted that Davido’s legacy as a hitmaker remains intact, stressing that his long list of successful releases speaks for itself regardless of award outcomes.
He reassured supporters that the singer’s music journey is far from over, promising more exciting songs ahead.
Davido continues to stand as one of Africa’s most influential music figures, boasting over a decade in the industry and a solid reputation among Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artists. Although he missed out on the Grammy win this year, the nomination itself was widely regarded as another significant achievement in his career.
