Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has sparked a wave of online reactions with a heartfelt and powerful message about single motherhood, achievement, and spirituality.
In a passionate address, the actress challenged societal norms about single mothers, emphasizing that true success is marked by personal development, well-rounded children, and stability, rather than marital status.
Iyabo Ojo shares her journey from single motherhood to success
Reflecting on her own journey, Iyabo Ojo revealed that defying expectations, she successfully raised her children on her own at a young age. She attributed her accomplishments to unwavering faith in God, as well as her resilience and determination, acknowledging the many challenges and emotional hurdles that come with parenting.
“There’s confusion among them. I’m the president-general of single mothers because my daughter has succeeded, my son has succeeded, and my life has improved,” she declared. “Raising children at a young age can drive you nearly insane. There were times I had no idea which path to take. If someone had told me I’d own a home in Lekki, I’d have dismissed it as a lie. It wasn’t me, it was God,” she confessed.
Ojo also touched on relationships, pointing out that both men and women make their own choices in marriage, while expressing her admiration for fathers who are actively involved in their children’s lives.
“Na man go leave you, na man go marry you. Na woman go leave you, na woman go marry you. Put your faith in God and see whether God will not do it for you. I easily fall in love with fathers that take care of their children,” she added.
