James Woods has revealed that his Pacific Palisades home is ‘still standing’ after believing that it had been destroyed in the catastrophic L.A. fires that began earlier this week on Tuesday.

It comes just two days after the actor, 77, broke down during a CNN interview after being evacuated. He had also shared videos of the fast-moving inferno moving towards his house on a hill in the community.

However, on Friday, Woods gave an update by uploading a clip to X to share that a ‘miracle has happened’ and that the property had survived the flames.

While standing on the deck, he panned the camera to the views below, showing that most structures and neighboring homes had been burnt to the ground in the Palisades Fire – which has spanned 20,000 acres as of Friday, per NBC News.

James also pointed out landmarks, such as a school, that had once stood – but was now destroyed.

He then panned the camera to show another portion of the backyard as others were also helping to put out small flames with buckets of water.

The star could be heard explaining, ‘Francis, who’s father we saved, is now putting out fires now on our hillside.’

Smoke still arose in the distance from other properties that had been ravished in the fires – which began on Tuesday amid strong Santa Ana winds.

The multiple devastating infernos throughout Southern California – including the Eaton Fire – have claimed the lives of 11 victims, NBC reported on Friday.

Around 200,000 residents have been evacuated while over 10,000 structures have been destroyed in the blazes.

Anthony Hopkins, Miles Teller, Paris Hilton, Tina Knowles, Eugene Levy, Billy Crystal Jeff Bridges, Adam Brody and wife Leighton Meester are just some who also lost their homes in the fires.

In the caption of his video, the Casino actor penned, ‘A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing.’

‘In this hellish landscape “standing” is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us. The view from our deck area.’

James was also seen visiting his property in the Pacific Palisades which sits on top of a hill – which was burnt below.

At one point, Woods was joined by other individuals – including a police officer – in the street and they held a conversation while standing next to a burnt vehicle.

He took to X once again to give additional updates about his neighborhood, and shared a short reel of how one side of a street was untouched, but the other fully destroyed.

James wrote, ‘One side untouched, the other utter destruction. While we rejoice to find our house intact, in the midst of a hellscape like this, you can only think of your neighbors.’

‘I was so certain our house was gone a day ago, but the fickle finger of fate decided otherwise.’

The actor also shared a photo of the remnants of a home, and typed, ‘So many beautiful messages from all of you.’

‘I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly the entire area looks like the dark side of the moon. It’s so fundamentally gut-wrenching and upsetting, it’s almost hard to celebrate the joyous news that our home survived.’

Woods’ recent update on Friday comes two days after he broke down during a CNN interview as he described evacuating his Pacific Palisades home amid the Los Angeles wildfires.

He became emotional as he shared how his wife’s niece offered to help after he thought their home was destroyed by the fires.

Woods said his wife’s eight-year-old niece ‘came out with her little piggy bank for us to rebuild our house.’

‘I’m sorry, it’s just one day you’re in the pool and the next its all gone,’ Woods added as he teared up.

The Oscar winner continued: ‘I’m sorry, I thought I was stronger than this…’

Woods had previously shared a video of the view from his destroyed home and wrote on X: ‘I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades.’

‘To all the wonderful people who’ve reached out to us, thank you for being so concerned.’

‘Just letting you know that we were able to evacuate successfully. I do not know at this moment if our home is still standing, but sadly houses on our little street are not,’ he wrote at the time.
