Jamie Foxx is beaming with fatherly pride as he commemorates a special milestone in his daughter Anelise’s life—her 17th birthday. The actor took to Instagram to celebrate Anelise Bishop, his youngest, filling the social media platform with love and nostalgia.

The proud father shared a heartwarming collection of posts, showcasing cherished moments from Anelise’s life, ranging from her babyhood days to her budding musical talents. Each post radiated a father’s deep affection and joy.

“What can I say,” Foxx expressed, reflecting on the passage of time as he wrote about his daughter now being 17. “Wow, 17 years have flown by. You are amazing. You are beautiful. I love you to the moon and back. @anelisefoxx please please please have a happy happy happy 17th birthday!!! You are loved.” His message accompanied a series of photos, including a delightful selfie with Anelise.

In a touching throwback, the Soul star shared an endearing image of Anelise as a toddler, wearing a large sunhat at the beach and leafing through a magazine. “Time has flown! I LOVE UUUU,” he captioned, emphasizing how quickly the years have passed.

Another snapshot showcased Anelise’s musical side, featuring her in a stylish white suit jacket and wide-brimmed hat, playing a guitar in the back of a convertible. This image paid homage to the musical passion she shares with her renowned father.

Jamie’s eldest daughter, Corinne, 31, joined the celebration in the comments, writing, “Happy birthday @anelisefoxx. Love you so much!!! Can’t wait to see how you take over the world.”

Jamie Foxx became a father for the first time in 1994 when Corinne was born, later welcoming Anelise with ex-girlfriend Kristin Grannis in 2009. While Corinne has made her mark as an actress and model, Anelise has leaned into music, a passion her dad proudly encourages.

During a 2020 Entertainment Tonight interview, the actor and musician gushed, “My 11-year-old now knows how to play the piano so well, she actually plays my songs while I sing to them… She said, ‘I am going on tour with you.’ I am blessed, we are all blessed.”

That father/daughter bond through music became even more powerful following the Ray actor’s health scare in 2023. In his Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…, he shared that Anelise’s guitar playing helped him heal after suffering a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

“They said when she was playing, my vitals went down. The nurses at the nurses station were baffled. Like, ‘Wow what did they give him?’ They rushed into the room and she said, ‘Ssh. I got him.’ … Do you know what I found out? That God was in that guitar. That’s my spiritual defibrillator,” he said.
