Jeannie Mai Reveals How Daughter Monaco Is Helping Her Grow

Jeannie Mai is offering fans a glimpse into her everyday moments with her 4-year-old daughter, Monaco Mai Jenkins.

The television host shared a collection of Instagram photos on Wednesday, featuring lessons in reading, cooking and skating as she spends quality time with her daughter.

Reflecting on their bond, Mai said motherhood has become a journey of mutual growth.

“I’m teaching her to read while she’s teaching me to slow down. I’m watching her find her balance on skates while I’m finding mine in life,” Mai wrote in the caption. “It’s funny how we’re both growing up in our own ways. This season feels especially sweet.”

Mai previously opened up about raising Monaco in Mini Magazine’s spring issue, explaining that her daughter inspires her to confront fear and keep moving forward.

“Monaco made me braver. Full stop. Because she is watching,” Mai said. “When I face something scary—a new venture, a hard conversation, starting over—I think about what I want her to see. I want her to see a woman who didn’t let fear win, who got back up and chose growth even when it was uncomfortable. She is my greatest motivation to live out loud, because she is learning how to live by watching me do it.”

Mai, who shares Monaco with rapper Jeezy, also recalled a touching moment when her daughter offered her an unexpected compliment.

“I literally just posted a video of this moment the other day. I was driving to the grocery store when Monaco said out of nowhere, ‘I think you’re the best mom ever,’” Mai said. “Before I melted into the floor, I realized Monaco is reflecting the love she has received from me. I talk to my daughter the way I hope she’ll talk to herself someday.”

As a mother, Mai said she is especially mindful of the example she sets through the way she speaks to Monaco.

“Every word I give her is like a handwritten love letter: intentional, different each time, something she can carry with her. And now that she’s talking so much, I hear it coming back to me,” she continued. “The same softness. The same love. She’s not just learning her voice—she’s helping me rewrite mine too.”
