It looks like former Teen Mom 2 star, Jenelle Evans, was telling the truth. She did, in fact, report her soon-to-be-ex-husband, David Eason, for the “sexual exploitation of a minor” after she claimed she found troubling content on his phone. While there is no evidence of wrongdoing, Evans clearly reported something to police. A search warrant was issued months ago, but it looks like nothing ever came of the allegations.

North Carolina police searched David Eason’s property for evidence of ‘sexual exploitation of a minor’

Yesterday, the U.S. Sun reported that North Carolina police had issued a search warrant for David Eason’s property. According to documentation, police were searching for illegal content on his electronic devices, which coincided with the claims Jenelle Evans had made about illegal content she saw on Eason’s electronics.

While a search warrant was issued, nothing came of it. According to a member of the department, charges were never filed. This is the first time we have heard about a search warrant, but it’s not the first time we’ve heard allegations that David Eason was in possession of such content. Jenelle Evans has been talking about potentially troubling content on David Eason’s phone for months.

She took to Facebook last year to insist she left David Eason for various reasons but was ultimately spurred to action because of disturbing content she found on his electronics. When pressed, she refused to say what she saw. She did claim she had informed the proper authorities, though.  

In November 2024, Evans brought the issue up in court. During a custody hearing, she accused David Eason of possessing materials related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. Evans testified that she discovered incriminating content on memory cards from Eason’s phone, prompting her to file reports with local police, the FBI, and family court. The Ashley Reality Roundup Group obtained audio of Evans’ testimony. She used the accusation in her bid for full custody of Ensley Eason, the only child she shares with Eason. She was granted full custody.

Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s relationship timeline

Jenelle Evans and David Eason married in September 2017. They met in 2015 on a dating app. Their relationship, by public controversies, including Eason’s firing from MTV and the 2019 killing of their family dog, played out in a very public way.

Evans filed for separation in October 2019 and moved to Tennessee, but the split didn’t last. She reconciled with Eason in early 2020 and moved back to North Carolina. In March 2024, she filed for legal separation again. Eason moved out of the family home and briefly lived on a boat they purchased as a couple. In May 2024, Evans was granted a six-month restraining order for herself and her children. The order was extended in November 2024.

While Evans and Eason can technically file for divorce now, they are not yet legally divorced. Still, they have moved on. Evans had a brief relationship with August Keen. Eason moved off his boat and into the home of his girlfriend. Kenleigh Heatwole, Eason’s girlfriend, has been heavily trolled for vehemently defending her man on social media.
