Jenna Bush Hager wrapped up her week co-hosting the Today show alongside Andy Cohen by indulging in a game that Cohen popularized on his own Bravo program, Watch What Happens Live.
Recently, Cohen had playfully accused Bush Hager on WWHL of borrowing the mini-game Prompter Wars, where participants are challenged to flawlessly read a rapidly moving teleprompter. This time, Bush Hager seized the opportunity to address their friendly rivalry head-on and to determine who truly deserves the title of Prompter Wars champion.
To kick off the segment, Bush Hager played a clip from the November 5 episode of Watch What Happens Live where Cohen humorously called her out. “We have games stolen all the time, and we usually keep quiet,” Cohen remarked. “But ‘Prompter Wars,’ I’m looking at you, Jenna Bush!”
On Friday’s (November 28) episode of Today, Bush Hager admitted to Cohen, “I forgot that we borrowed Prompter Wars from you!”
Cohen further pointed out that Today With Jenna & Friends also replicated the game’s visual elements. “I mean, seriously, it looked like you guys just took our graphics,” he jested.
Bush Hager decided to “blame” her executive producer, Talia Parkinson. “She says we’re just borrowing it but eventually we’ll give it back when we’re tired of it,” she told Cohen. She then asked if he wanted to give it a shot, to which he sarcastically responded, “Well you keep doing it. Why not? Why would today be any different?”
Both Bush Hager and Cohen gave the game a shot. Though Cohen felt like Bush Hager deserved the honors, the Today host admitted that she feels like he was the ultimate winner.
“Here’s the thing. We stole it from you, so you’re the winner,” she told him.
She then pointed out that he couldn’t take legal action against her because both of their shows are owned by NBCUniversal. “And if you want to sue us, don’t, because we’re all in the same parent company. That will hurt you, too.”
Friday marked Cohen’s last day co-hosting Today With Jenna & Friends. Next up, Bush Hager will be joined by Scarlett Johansson beginning Monday, Dec. 1.
Comedian Chelsea Handler will later join Bush Hager next Friday, Dec. 5.
Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
