EGOT-winner and talk show host, Jennifer Hudson, is poised for a summer full of courtside fun with son, David, as she is embracing her new role as a “Basketball mom”.

“We just want to be outside, because he’s about to be a junior in high school, so he’s a basketball kid and a music kid,” Hudson told People Magazine in a recent exclusive interview.

“So we love going to concerts and basketball games.” “I’m a basketball mom,” she admitted to the outlet. “So you’re going to see me at a lot of those sports events. And a lot of concerts. Because we love music too. So we’re just going to hang out and have a fun summer because we worked really hard throughout this school year.”

Earlier this month, the talk show host sat courtside showing off their fashion-forward Crocs, twinning at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball game. Hudson paired her designer black, rhinestone-covered Crocs with blue jeans, a black shirt and a leather jacket while 15-year-old son, David, wore an all-black outfit with his white and gray Crocs.

This year for Mother’s Day, Hudson enjoyed a duo-celebration. The Dream Girls actress shared the day with her son, as well as her assistant and long-time friend, Walter Williams, celebrating his birthday.

“Yesterday was a double celebration here at JHud Productions!” she shared on Instagram. “It was such a beautiful day celebrating Mother’s Day and Walter’s birthday! I hope your day was filled with love as you celebrated your mothers!!!”

We cannot wait to see all of the summer fun that Hudson will share with David. From the basketball court to beyond, we have a feeling that this duo is going to make it an epic summer 2025!
