Jennifer Lawrence turned heads with her unique fashion choice during a casual stroll in New York City on Thursday. This outing follows her recent disclosure of a humorous text exchange with a fellow A-list actress.

The 35-year-old star of “Die My Love” donned an eye-catching hot pink pashmina scarf, which she cleverly styled as a skirt layered over sweatpants. It was a bold and quirky look for her solo trip through the bustling city.

Embracing the chilly winter air, Lawrence chose to stay warm by wrapping the vibrant scarf around her waist. She paired it with a cozy cream cashmere sweater and a thick puffer jacket, exuding both comfort and style.

While strolling down the street in soft leather shoes, the Oscar-winning actress appeared engaged in a phone conversation. Her ensemble was complemented by noise-canceling earphones and dark sunglasses, giving her an effortlessly cool demeanor.

Lawrence’s choice of attire and her relaxed yet confident stride captured the attention of onlookers, showcasing her flair for unexpected fashion statements.

She appeared to be wearing little to no makeup and wore her hair in her natural, straight style for her casual excursion.

Her outing comes shortly after she attended the special screening of her new film, Die My Love.

At the special event, she debuted a new hairstyle as she got bangs for the new year.  

She had been shockingly snubbed when her name went unmentioned when nominations for the SAG Awards – renamed the Actor Awards – were announced.

The Hunger Games alum later revealed she texted Emma Stone shortly after the nominations were revealed and ‘called out’ her colleague and friend for ‘beating me for decades.’

During an event at New York’s 92NY on Wednesday, she admitted that she sent a sad face emoji to her group chat with Stone while others were congratulating her for her nomination. 

‘She got nominated for SAG today and I did not,’ she told Josh Horowitz. ‘And all of our friends were like, “Congratulations, Emma,” and then I would just do, like, a sad face.’

She recalled how she poked fun at her close friend and joked around with Stone. 

‘And then every time she’s tried to, like, talk today, I’ve just been like … “If you can talk, why are you not sorry?” But yeah, no, she’s been beating me for decades, and it’s an honor.’

Lawrence’s outing comes shortly after she recalled the recent awkward text change she had with A-list pal Emma Stone over her recent SAG Actor Awards snub; the pals seen in 2024

Stone was among the SAG-AFTRA’s Actor Awards for her performance in Bugonia. 

Lawrence was nominated at the Golden Globes, Gotham Awards and others for her performance in Die My Love, but she did not get a nod from the Actor Awards.  

She recalled how she had lost not only awards and nominations to Stone but also movie roles. 

‘The one that I wanted that she got was Easy A,’ she admitted. ‘I was nuts for Easy A and really should have gotten it, right? It would have been great.’ 

Currently, Lawrence is collaborating with Stone on a Miss Piggy movie directed by Cole Escola.

As for her recently released movie, Die My Love, Lawrence stars as a writer and young mother named Grace, who lives in an old house in Montana with her partner Jackson (Robert Pattinson). 

As she begins slowly slipping into madness, her companion becomes increasingly worried and helpless. 

The Lynne Ramsay-directed film, which also stars Sissy Spacek, Sarah Lind and LaKeith Stanfield among many others, was released on November 7, 2025.
