The insider continued, saying things have moved from friendly to beyond “G-rated” over the course of nearly a year. Drake, for his part, “didn’t want to come on too strong and spook her, so he really leaned into the caring-friend role,” the source said. “They’ve been texting back and forth for nearly a year. It wasn’t G-rated, but he didn’t pressure her.” 

“He’s really laid it on thick, but so far, he’s gotten no further than sexting,” they added, noting the Grammy winner, 38, has also sent flowers and gifts to Lopez. At this point, the “Nokia” rapper is “getting frustrated and feels like he might be in the friend zone now.” 

Nevertheless, he’s still pursuing Lopez. “Usually, Drake would have blown this off by now and stopped wasting his time,” the insider said. “But she’s one of his all-time crushes, so he doesn’t want to give up.” 

As for Lopez, she finalized her divorce from Affleck in January 2025 and is said not to be concerned with her love life. “She’s focused on work and is not dating,” a source told People. “She’s happy as it is.”

J.Lo is also rumored to be romantically linked to Brett Goldstein 

Drake isn’t the only person in Hollywood said to be romantically linked to J.Lo. Rumors of a potential romance between her and Brett Goldstein have been flying for months. The two star in Netflix’s upcoming rom-com Office Romance, which is currently being filmed. (Goldstein wrote the script alongside fellow Ted Lasso writer Joe Kelly.) 

Talk of possible sparks increased when Lopez and Goldstein were spotted at a performance of Oh, Mary! on Broadway (Office Romance co-star Betty Gilpin is part of the production) in March 2025. 

Meanwhile, an insider told the Daily Mail that the “Love Don’t a Thing” singer is attracted to Goldstein. “He is one hot ticket and a real class act with talent to back it up—he not only acts, but he writes amazing scripts,” the source said. “He is like the younger, better, British version of Ben. She thinks he is very cute.”
