Jessica Simpson is officially ready to move on from her marriage. The songstress announced her split from Eric Johnson in January, and now, she appears to be testing the waters on Instagram. Simpson has been exchanging flirty social media comments with Jeremy Renner. Simpson and Renner were rumored to have had a flirtation before she married Johnson. Could love be in the air?

Jeremy Renner and Jessica Simpson don’t seem to care who knows they are fans of each other. The duo, rumored to have had a flirtation back in 2010, have been commenting on Instagram posts. Simpson started the banter by commenting on one of Renner’s workout videos. He “liked” her emoji-centric comment. Renner didn’t let Simpson do all of the talking, though.

A short time later, he popped up on her Instagram post announcing her new album. He was one of the first stars to congratulate her. She liked the comment, letting Renner and the world know she saw it.

The banter isn’t slowing down, either. Simpson popped up on a recent video Renner shared to the social media app. She commented that she needed to get some situps in after watching a video of Renner and his mom working out together. While the rumored love interests haven’t been spotted together in real life, we will be keeping an eye on their social media profiles for more flirtatious moments.

Jeremy Renner doesn’t have the best track record in the romance department

While Simpson’s fans would like to see her find love again, Jeremy Renner might not be the suitor they are hoping for. While Renner’s acting career has been nothing but big wins, he hasn’t been as lucky in love. Several of his former flames and their families have spoken out against the Hurt Locker star. He’s made some pretty controversial statements, too.

Renner was married just once for 11 months. His ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, accused the fame star of substance abuse and emotional abuse throughout their short-lived relationship. According to TMZ, Pacheco accused the star of threatening to kill her and himself, using cocaine while watching their shared child, and bringing various women into his home when he had custody of their child. Renner filed legal docs denying the allegations and accusing Pacheco of substance abuse.

More recently, Renner has been called out by the sibling of a former flame. The brother of Renner’s recent love interest, Amber Monson, linked up with the Daily Mail to reveal that Renner treated his family terribly during a planned event. He claims Renner was drunk and demeaning when they arrived at his Lake Tahoe property for a scheduled get-together. Renner never commented on the allegations.
