Joey Bada$$ and Serayah McNeill have welcomed their welcomed their first child together — a baby boy.

Serayah shared the news on Snapchat with a sweet photo showing her newborn’s tiny leg in a blue sock, giving fans a first peek at their little one.

The announcement comes just weeks after The Empire star opened up about her pregnancy journey in an interview with Essence published on May 22.

At the time, Serayah said she was “at the finish line” and preparing for motherhood alongside Joey.

“We both turn 30 this year. I turned 30 in January, she turns 30 in June. So naturally, there’s a lot of transitional things happening in our lives, and it’s very, very symbolic at this point in time right now,” Joey said. “It’s just the beginning of a new chapter.”

Joey and Serayah first met in 2021 during a mutual friend’s birthday party on a boat. In 2024, while working on a project in Atlanta, Serayah started noticing early signs that she might be expecting.

“I was on set, and they brought fried chicken for the cast and crew, and I just was repulsed by the smell,” she said.

That unexpected reaction turned out to be her first clue that she was pregnant.

She later went public with her pregnancy in February 2025 while walking in New York Fashion Week for lingerie brand Adore Me.

“The stars just aligned. We didn’t coordinate or plan anything out,” she explained. “An opportunity came to me to walk in the Adore Me fashion show and I disclosed to them that I was, I think at the time, around five or six months pregnant. When they said that they were fine with it, I was like, ‘Okay, well maybe this is the opportunity, and this will be the moment.’ 

This is Serayah’s first child. Joey, whose full name is Jo-Vaughn, is also dad to a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
