Jon Stewart is returning to The Daily Show earlier than expected this week. And the late night host likely has a lot to say considering this week’s news cycle.

Though he exclusively hosts on Mondays – and was reportedly expected to take a post-Emmys break until next Monday (Sept. 22) according to LateNighter, – Stewart will be back on The Daily Show desk again tonight (Sept. 18), just one day after ABC made the shocking decision to indefinitely pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its U.S. stations.

The news came Wednesday after Jimmy Kimmel recently commented on how Republicans and Democrats have handled the recent murder of outspoken conservative, Charlie Kirk.

Stewart, who is not one to hold back, will surely have much to say about Kimmel’s suspension.

He recently took aim at Comedy Central’s own parent company Paramount Global for canceling The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in July. In a searing monologue against Paramount, he called the company out for canceling The Late Show amid its $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, which required approval from the Trump-controlled Federal Communications Commission.

“The shows that you now seek to cancel, censor and control … a not insignificant portion of that $8 billion value came from those shows,” Stewart said on The Daily Show at the time. “That’s what made you that money.”

Now, it looks like Stewart will be taking aim at ABC.
