Joseline Hernandez is preparing to become a mother for the second time, almost a decade after welcoming her first child.
The reality television personality, now seven months pregnant, discussed her pregnancy, motherhood and family life with Shannon Sharpe during an appearance on Club Shay Shay.
Hernandez shares her 9-year-old daughter, Bonnie Bella, with Stevie J. But Ballistic Beats, whom Hernandez married, has been a constant presence in Bonnie’s life since she was an infant and has played a major role in raising her.
“You know he raised my daughter. He raised our daughter,” Hernandez said of Beats. “I met him when Bonnie was four months.”
“She is his daughter,” she continued. “Yeah, he is a father because he does everything. He had her since she was four months.”
Hernandez said Beats has taken on the daily duties that come with parenting throughout Bonnie’s childhood.
“I met my husband when Bonnie was six months. They’ve been together since,” she recalled. “And he’s taking her to school every day. He’s fed her. He tutors her every day for the past nine and a half years.”
She added that Beats has also shared countless milestones with Bonnie. “They play video games every night. He takes her to the park. He taught her how to swim. He taught her how to read. He taught this girl everything.”
Bonnie calls Beats “Papa,” and their especially close relationship has occasionally left Hernandez feeling like the outsider.
“Sometimes I get jealous of their relationship. They don’t know that,” she admitted.
Hernandez also recalled the heartfelt message Bonnie has shared with her about Beats’ role in her life.
“She’s like, ‘Thank you for being my papa.’ She always tell me, ‘Mom, the best thing you could have done is gave me papa as my papa.’ She says this to me.”
While Beats takes on a nurturing role, Hernandez described herself as the more disciplined parent at home.
“Obviously I’m the mother and I’m like the enforcer,” she explained. “I’m going to enforce the things that she needs to do.”

Her approach to raising Bonnie is also informed by her own childhood experiences.
“As a mom that didn’t have a mom that did that to me,” Hernandez said, later adding, “That’s why I ended up doing all the crazy [ __ ] that I done.”
As she prepares to welcome another child, Hernandez said she has been intentional about discussing her past with Bonnie instead of letting her daughter learn about it from someone else.
“I don’t need anybody telling my daughter anything I done on TV before I tell it to her because she’s too smart,” she said.
Hernandez emphasized that children need context about their parents’ histories. “You know it’s like you have to teach these children where their parents come from. If not they would never understand the struggle.”
As Bonnie gets older, Hernandez knows there is only so much she can shield her from.
“So it’s like you got to kind of guide them through life, right?” she said. “So like as bad as I want to keep my secrets, I can’t. She’s growing up so quickly like it’s all over the place. I have to say something about it.”
Soon, Hernandez will be starting over with the newborn stage.
She delivered Bonnie through a water birth and is planning another natural delivery, though she has not decided whether she will give birth at home or in a hospital.
“My first one was water birth,” she said. “And I’m like I’m like I’m like I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to do. I have my doctor, right?”
Hernandez said she has several midwives on standby while she makes her decision.
“Whether I go to the hospital or whether I do it at home,” she said. “It’s going to be natural.”
