Joy Behar appeared less than thrilled when her co-host, Sara Haines, pointed out to viewers that she frequently receives criticism for using her phone during episodes of The View.
The seasoned co-hosts found themselves in a humorous exchange while discussing the impact of social media usage. This conversation came in the wake of a landmark ruling that held Meta and YouTube accountable for creating addictive platforms.
During the discussion, Haines highlighted the deliberate design of these platforms to captivate and retain user interest. “They are programmed to get you addicted,” she explained to Behar. “And the reality is that adults, including us, often fall prey to it.”
Haines then playfully jabbed at Behar, who is frequently spotted with her phone during the show.
“Joy, seriously, you catch a lot of flak here at the table,” she remarked. “We’re always telling you, ‘Put your phone down, stop looking at your phone.'”
“Oh, shut up!” Behar fired back.
Their co-hosts and the audience burst into laughter at the unexpected outburst.
Sunny Hostin, who has worked with Behar for years, agreed. “Joy loves her phone,” she said.
Abby Huntsman then chimed in. “Joy, do you go down rabbit holes a lot?” she inquired, which Haines confirmed.
It looks like Behar was in a fiery mood during Friday’s (March 27) broadcast. At another point in the segment, she accused Huntsman of getting kicked out of high school.
Huntsman revealed on the show that she attended four high schools when she was a teenager. “Homeschools, public schools, you name it,” she said.
“What? Did you get kicked out of every school?” Behar asked.
“No, I moved every year!” Huntsman responded, before she jokingly added, “You didn’t know that about me? I got kicked out of every year of high school, Joy!”
