Julie Bowen Reveals She Has a New Romance After Once Declaring Herself “Very Single”
Julie Bowen is giving love another chance.
Four years after the Modern Family alum said she was done with dating, Bowen has confirmed that a new man is now part of her life.
In an interview with People published Sept. 26, the actress shared, “I have a lovely friend.”
The 56-year-old did not reveal her partner’s identity, but said he has the qualities she values most in a relationship.

“I need smart and funny,” Bowen said when describing what she looks for in a partner. “I don’t care what people look like—though he happens to be good-looking.”
The Happy Gilmore star made her priorities clear, adding, “I like the brains.”
Bowen was married to Scott Phillips from 2004 until their separation in 2017. They share sons Oliver, 19, and 17-year-old twins Gustave and John.
After her divorce was finalized in 2018, Bowen said she was “very single” and had closed the door on dating. At the time, she even marked the end of that chapter by gifting herself a new dog.
