Which came first, the chicken or the boyfriend?

Kate Beckinsale caught everyone’s attention when she revealed that her daughter Lily Mo Sheen‘s boyfriend had an unusual talent—he laid two eggs. Yes, you read that correctly, two eggs.

Before you start clucking in disbelief, let the Pearl Harbor actress clarify the situation.

“Our family is really close,” Kate shared with Jimmy Kimmel during her appearance on the Nov. 24 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “We’ve gone through a difficult couple of years, with both my parents passing away. Honestly, the only uplifting moment during that time came from him. The highlight was that he laid two eggs in a single week.”

As expected, the statement left everyone puzzled. Jimmy, trying to tread carefully, asked, “What exactly does that mean?”

“Well, he said, ‘I’ve laid an egg,’” Kate explained. “It came out the route it would come out of a hen.”

The 52-year-old,  who shares her 26-year-old daughter with ex Michael Sheen, went on to note the boyfriend was “genuinely scared the first time,” crushing the egg to find a “hardboiled yolk” inside the “full shell.”
