In a dramatic turn of events, Katie Price advanced to the next stage of Celebrity MasterChef in Monday’s pre-recorded episode, a mere few hours after news broke of her sudden hospitalization in the early morning due to an eye injury from an alleged assault.
The episode showcased her culinary skills as she delighted judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with her rendition of toad in the hole. Expressing her joy, the 43-year-old mother said, “I’m really happy that I’m still in, really happy. I’m excited and nervous. Never underestimate the Pricey.”
In this episode, Katie was in competition with celebrities like Joe Swash, former footballer Dion Dublin, actor Melissa Johns, and furniture specialist Will Kirk. Unfortunately for Kirk, he was the one who left the competition at the conclusion of the show.
Appearing on television, Price secured her place in the next round of Celebrity MasterChef. This came on the heels of reports that she was rushed to the hospital, dealing with a worrisome eye injury from an alleged attack earlier that day.
The episode also gave fans a peek into Katie’s life at home during the pandemic with her five children. She humorously compared her role at home to that of ‘a school dinner lady,’ as she diligently caters to feeding her lively household.
‘Because it’s COVID I have spent more time in the kitchen, but the trouble with this show is you’re not allowed to use tinned stuff,’ Katie quipped.
She added: ‘You have to make it from scratch. I’m like a school dinner lady. Big pots, five kids, and I just chuck it all in.’
Happy: After impressing with her toad in the hole, Katie told cameras: ‘I’m really happy that I’m still in, really happy. I’m excited and nervous. Never underestimate the Pricey’
Her appearance on the show comes after it was revealed she was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning with an eye injury following an alleged attack.
Police were called after the incident occurred at a property in Essex, who called for paramedics.
The Sun report that a man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently being held in custody.

One neighbour told MailOnline ‘There was something kicking off because I heard loads of shouting and screaming. It was definitely going off.
‘It was anti social and sounded like a load of p***heads coming back from the pub. There was a real kerfuffle.
‘Then I saw a car parked across the road for ages. Around half an hour after that I heard loads of talking.
‘I came downstairs to see what was going, but I don’t know what time it was because I didn’t have my phone with me. I didn’t see or hear any cops. I didn’t see any blue lights.’
Another said: ‘We heard an argument at about 11pm. I didn’t hear anything at 1.30am when the police were supposed to have been called because I was asleep.
‘I know that Katie Price had been living next door. I don’t think I had heard any big arguments before last night.’
Like a pro: Despite looking baffled when she was given a crab and told to make a dish out of it at the start of the show, Katie knocked up a tasty pasta
Mallet: Katie hammered the shell in with a mallet – a process she compared to ‘an autopsy’ – but left John and Gregg pleased with her crab noodles with garlic and chilli
