Katie Thurston took a bit of time out of the schedule to absolutely roast Cody Menk afrer the fomrer ‘The Bachelorette’ contestant left a rude comment on her wedding post.
Former The Bachelorette star Katie Thurston had her fairytale wedding. In March, not long after announcing she had stage 4 breast cancer, Thurston married Jeff Arcuri in a beautiful ceremony. She shared photos from the day and chatted with Us Weekly about life. Everyone was happy for Thurston, agreeing she deserved romance and fun in her life. Well, almost everyone was happy for her. KatieThurston spotted a former contestant from her season of The Bachelorette trolling one of her wedding Instagram posts, and she absolutely roasted him.

Katie Thurston isn’t about to let haters ruin her wedded bliss. Thurston took to her Instagram stories on August 8 to call out a comment left on a post about a spread on her wedding to Jeff Arcuri. The comment was left by Cody Menk, a contestant from Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette. Thurston screenshot the comment, in which Menk pokes fun at Thurston and Arcuri’s looks, calling them “solid 5s,” and added a caption. She wrote, “Remember this guy from my season? Me Either. But he’s still lurking on my page.” She went on to sarcastically thank Menk for being a “fan.”
Katie Thurston and the rest of the world might not remember Cody Menk, but he was pretty memorable during his very short stint on Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette. In an interesting twist, Menk was sent home during week 2 when Thurston confronted him about his off-screen persona, noting that another contestant knew him from back home and described him as “unkind.” Thurston didn’t delve deeper into the allegations, and Menk offered an insincere explanation. It earned him a trip home.
Menk’s Instagram profile is now set to private, though he insists he is “retired” from reality TV these days.
Who won Katie’s season?
Katie Thurston was a fan favorite when she appeared on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor. She was so well-liked that fans were thrilled when she was announced as an upcoming bachelorette, but her season had more than a few hiccups. Thurston’s season was filmed during the height of COVID-19 restrictions, shortly after Chris Harrison’s exit from the series.
To contend with restrictions, Thurston’s season was filmed in New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort. Without a host, the network scrambled, pulling in Bachelor Nation alums Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams as temporary hosts.
The slightly off-balance season ended with Blake Moynes, a wildlife manager from Canada who had previously competed on Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ season, winning Thurston’s heart. Blake joined the season late, arriving in episode 4, but quickly formed a strong bond with Katie. They got engaged during the August 9, 2021, finale. The duo announced their split just two months later. Moynes returned to his life as a wildlife educator and conservationist, keeping things relatively quiet. He hasn’t weighed in on Katie Thurston’s recent roast of his former co-contestant on Instagram, but Moynes probably doesn’t remember Cody Menk, either.
